Skate courier and bike messenger in Amsterdam | Small-scale and personal

Hi! During the pandemic, I used the situation to my advantage and introduced a new sustainable Amsterdam-based skate and bike messenger service. I have kept it going and still occasionally deliver packages for customers. After all, it’s always good to “make a move in tempting Amsterdam”. Lex and the City Lexpress is small-scale and personal; the recipient might even receive a compelling city story upon arrival.

It is possible when it fits my schedule. During the high season, when I am busy with my other activities as a local tour guide and skate instructor, it is not always possible. (Lex, July 2026)

I can recommend Lex very highly as a Skate Guide and Tour Planner. He helped me to plan and organise the last Skatefresh Trip to Amsterdam and it was a great Trip, despite some rain storms. The team Lex chose were experienced, friendly and well prepared skaters who made us feel in safe hands. It's always nicer to be guided by locals. Lex has a wealth of local knowledge about the sites and customs of his country. 2026 - We recently hired Lex again for a Skatefresh 2 day tour and once again Lex did not disappoint. Our group of 14 people had a great Lexperience! Our guides Lex and Jelte were informative, fun and overall patient. We saw a great part of Amsterdam that you don't see on a regular inner city bike tour. Highly recommend for a relaxed and authentic tour of Amsterdam.

Deze tour door Betondorp en Park de Meer met toelichting over Cruijff ⚽️ en de architectuur is prima bevallen. We waren met een groep van 22 collega’s en we werden opgesplitst in 2-en en begeleid door Lex en zijn collega Alex. Begonnen met een drankje bij café De Avonden en vervolgens een 1,5uur durende tour gehad. Dit had toch gerust 2uur mogen duren.

And I am passionate.

5 Lexpress bike messenger services in Amsterdam | With prices of packages that fit in the green carts.

Prices are published excuding VAT, (Even if I skate or cycle with pleasure to Amstelveen or something; just relexed consultation about the costs then.)

Here is the Lexpress rate for example for “vital” package deliveries from pharmacies, and with items from retailers on the road. (CO2 neutral, a green home delivery service.)

1. Same day town center of Amsterdam: € 15,-
2. Same day within the A10 ring: € 20,-
3. Same day IJburg, Nieuw-West and Bijlmer: € 25,-
4. Same day Amstelveen: € 32,50.
5. Evening courier; surcharge: € 15.00

Payment is done by payment request. Dutch customers know it as a “tikkie”. Don’t you have Dutch bank account? What about using Paypal, Maestro, Visa, (Belgian) Bancontact or Mastercard instead?
(L)existing customers are able to pay over normal bank transfer afterwards.
Cash remains an option as well.

An urgent “Lexpress” shipment is my mission in CV time. Sometimes inline skating is not possible or you need a larger bag. For example when an employee starts working at home and wants it’s computer be delivered the green way.
Therefore I am a bike messenger Amsterdam as well.

Check out this Lexpress bike courier picture. With Cyclone bicycle trailer in Amsterdam, de Pijp, Marie Heinekenplein. The bike-Cyclone is larger than the skate-Wheelie. (100l vs. 75l.). Moreover the weather and (wet) roads not always permit me to skate to you. So biking (and even footbiking) is a good alternative.   

Green f-Lex company with a sporty delivery service. This temporary (?) green city service fits within the mission of Lex and the City.

My question is whether you know (or are) a retailer who needs help to deliver items to your home in a green way. As shops in Amsterdam have more online customers now.
Or a healthcare organization that is looking for a delivery service. For example, delivering medicines for a hospital, a doctor’s post or a pharmacy.

I have furthermore chosen to be a skate & bicycle courier for international companies (I speak French, German, English and Dutch.) whose home workers need their business computer at home. Or I deliver food for a parent service.

And since it’s start, the beginning of the Corona crisis, Lexpress has the green courier for fast same day delivery of high quality mouth masks all over Amsterdam. (So that part is more or less over now.)

Because of the Corona crisis, I suddenly have a lot of time, I want to help and I am looking for a (modest) alternative income. My question is whether you know of someone or something who needs help to deliver things in the Amsterdam area. For example, delivering medicines for a hospital, a doctor’s post or a pharmacy. Or deliver food for an elderly service. Because mobility in the city is of course the core of my company and of myself. On the bike, on the skate, the footbike or walking. I know Amsterdam geographically well, because of my work as a local guide and the volunteer work for the Friday Night Skate for 22 years. Oh and look, I have nice delivery carts.
